A useful search starts with a precise question and ends at the organisation responsible for the answer.
Make the query specific
- Include the country, organisation and service you need.
- For an exact document title, try quotation marks.
- Use a site-specific query when you already know the official domain.
- Check the date, jurisdiction and original page before relying on a result.
Check the page, not just the snippet
Google describes search as crawling, indexing and serving results. A prominent result is not a guarantee that information is complete or suitable for your situation. Open the source and check whether it applies to the current application or reporting period.
