Unicode identifies text characters consistently across platforms. A font supplies their visual appearance. Installing a different font cannot by itself repair text that was saved using the wrong character encoding.
For new Bengali text
- Use a Unicode-compatible input method and a Bengali-capable font.
- For websites and text files, preserve UTF-8 when saving and transferring content.
- Test a sample in more than one application before sharing a long document.
Find a font
Google Fonts provides a specimen page for Noto Sans Bengali. Check the licence accompanying the particular font files before redistributing or embedding them.
If a legacy document uses an older encoding, preserve the original and verify any conversion against the intended text. See the keyboard-language guide for input settings.
