Before accepting an overseas job, check the recruitment route, the employer and the destination country’s work-authorisation requirements.
Official starting points
The Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training publishes recruitment-related notices. Use current official records when checking an agency or approval; a licence number shown in an advertisement is not enough on its own.
Questions to resolve in writing
- Who is the employer, and where will you work?
- What are the role, pay, working hours and contract terms?
- Which visa or work permit applies, and who handles it?
- What costs are payable, to whom, and under which official notice or contract?
Check the destination immigration or labour authority and the relevant Bangladesh mission. Keep copies of the offer, contract and receipts. Avoid treating a social-media advertisement or an old recruitment approval as a current vacancy.
