Loans: understand the total repayment before borrowing

Compare the lender’s written terms, current schedule of charges and repayment schedule. An advertised rate alone does not show the full cost.

Before accepting an offer

  • Confirm the amount you receive after deductions.
  • Ask how interest or profit is calculated and whether the rate can change.
  • Check instalments, total repayment, fees and late-payment consequences.
  • Read security, guarantor and early-settlement conditions.
  • Consider whether repayments remain manageable if your income changes.

Use official institution information to identify the provider. Keep the agreement, repayment schedule and receipts. For an unresolved complaint involving a Bangladesh Bank-regulated provider, consult the bank’s complaint process and the regulator’s current escalation guidance.

This is general information, not personalised borrowing advice. No current product rates, fee caps or approval promises are supplied here.
